OUTREACH SERVICES

PEER MENTORSHIP

A CC AmeriCorps member engaging with students at the University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion. As a USD graduate student, she works alongside Lost&Found, a nonprofit dedicated to student resilience, to develop and implement a peer-mentorship curriculum to reduce isolation and strengthen the well-being of veterans on campus.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

CC AmeriCorps members engage with service providers and local organizations to build strong support networks. MILITARY CULTURE AWARENESS

Military culture awareness is crucial for supporting military families and veterans. CC AmeriCorps members complete a specialized curriculum, including suicide prevention strategies, to understand military experiences, values, and challenges. This training helps them build trust, reduce resource barriers, and provide responsive support to student veterans and other military-connected people.
